The LEGO Code (rec.toys.lego Geek Code) is a code for fans of the building toy Lego and its related products.

The original Lego Code, written by Derek Schin, was proposed in 1995.

David Eaton made some independent edits in 2000 in the process of constructing a parser and generator:

Ok, now I’ve got two strikes against me. I went ahead and made my own new-ish version of the LGC WITHOUT talking to Derek (et all?) first. Strike one. Strike two is that I made an INTERPRETER and a DESCRIPTION of my new version of the LGC, but haven’t finished the actual GENERATOR (which would be the most USEFUL part of course) yet.

Given the way my code worked I had to switch the order of a couple things from Derek’s version (actually, for DISPLAY purposes rather than PARSING purposes, which is shameful of me), and I added a few things (themes, etc) that weren’t in his version, last updated in… uh… 1997 I guess?

Though this could be considered a successor code, the name overlap and lack of version number in David Eaton’s version makes it difficult to distinguish from Derek Schin’s.
