Geek-R

Geek-R is a code inspired by Geek Code but adapted for a non-geeky Russian audience.
According to a 2001 FAQ for FidoNet echo conference
ru.e.letter,
versions of Geek-R were published for 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2, and then 1.3 was
misinterpreted as a new version:
The name of the Phainocode predecessor, the development of which has been completed. Three official versions of Geek-R were released: 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2, and one “left” version - 1.3, which was obtained due to the fact that the working version published by the author once for discussion was evaluated by some subscribers of the echo conference as new and distributed under this number. :-) -) It is strongly recommended to abandon the use of Geek-R and switch to Phainocode.
That FAQ also describes some controversy around the use of Geek-R, speculating why it was banned from several echo conferences and how its perceived flaws informed Marïnais’s successor code Phainocode.
